UGC NET June 2026

UGC NET June 2026 notification has been officially announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the candidates willing to clear their way to become Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellows (JRF). As per UGC NET June 2026 notification, the online application process is being started from 29 April 2026 till 20 May 2026 (11:50 PM). The examination will be held from 22 June to 30 June 2026 in CBT mode all over India. Thus, it’s a very good chance for the candidates who wish to pursue their careers in teaching as well as research field.

Note: Candidates who wish to fill the form must read the official notification once and then apply for the form.

  • General-EWS/OBC-NCL:  Rs. 600/-
  • General/Unreserved: Rs. 1150/-
  • ST/SC/PwD & Third Gender: Rs. 325/-
  • Pay the Exam Fee Through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, Etc.

AGE LIMIT 

  • For JRF:

    • Maximum Age: 30 Years (as on 01 June 2026)
    • Age relaxation available for reserved categories

    For Assistant Professor:

    • No upper age limit
  • Age Relaxation provides As per Their Regulation.

Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum 55% marks in Master’s Degree (General category)
  • Minimum 50% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates
  • Final-year students of Master’s Degree can also apply

Important Points:

  • Candidates must have a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject
  • PhD degree holders get relaxation as per rules
  • 4-year bachelor degree holders (with 75%) are also eligible for JRF/PhD

  • For Assistant Professor – NET Certificate is valid for a lifetime, allowing candidates to apply for teaching roles at any stage.
  • For JRF – The JRF award letter is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. Within this duration, candidates must enroll in a PhD program to avail themselves of fellowship benefits.

The UGC NET 2026 June selection process includes:

  • Paper 1: General Teaching & Research Aptitude
  • Paper 2: Subject-specific paper

Both papers are conducted together in a single session.

After Qualifying:

  • Assistant Professor Salary: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400 (Level 10)
  • JRF Fellowship:
    • ₹37,000/month (first 2 years)
    • ₹42,000/month (after promotion to SRF)
