Age Limit (as on 1/10/2026)

Candidates must be aged 20 to 27 years as on 01 October 2026.

Education Qualification

Candidates must have passed an Engineering Degree such as BE or B.Tech in the required branch.
Students who are in the final year of their engineering course can also apply, but some conditions will apply.
Candidates must submit proof of passing the engineering degree exam along with marksheets of all semesters or years by 01 October 2026.

Click on “Officer Entry Appln/Login” and complete registration if you are not already registered.
After registration, log in and click on “Apply Online” from the dashboard.
Go to “Officers Selection – Eligibility” and choose Short Service Commission Technical Course, then click on Apply.

Documents to Carry for SSB Interview:

Printout of the application with photo and signature.
Matriculation/Secondary Certificate & Marksheet.
12th/Diploma Certificate & Marksheet.
Engineering Degree / Provisional Degree (Provisional ≤ 6 months old).
Semester-wise Marksheets.
Certificate for CGPA to Marks conversion (if applicable).
Final-year study certificate or declaration (if applicable).

Selection Process

Applications are first shortlisted by the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence Army based on the cut-off marks in the chosen engineering branch.
Candidates who are shortlisted are informed about their SSB selection centre through email.
The SSB interview is held for five days and is conducted by a psychologist, group testing officer, and interviewing officer at centres in Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, and Jalandhar Cantt.
After the interview, candidates have to go through a medical fitness test.
Candidates who clear the SSB and medical tests are given joining letters for the Pre-Commission Training Academy based on merit and the number of vacancies.
