The Staff Selection Commission has announced the SSC MTS Exam Date along with the start date for self slot selection on 2nd January 2026. Candidates who applied for the Multi-Tasking Staff and Havaldar exam will appear for the computer based test from 4th February 2026 onwards. The option to choose the exam slot will be available from 15th January 2026.
As mentioned in the official notice for the SSC MTS Exam Date, only the starting dates for the CBT exam and self slot selection have been shared so far, and the full schedule will be released soon. The exam will be held in computer-based mode, and the admit card for the Tier 1 CBT will be issued 2 to 3 days before the exam date. The selection process includes a Tier 1 written exam for all posts, and candidates applying for Havaldar posts will also have to appear for a physical test after the written exam.

SSC MTS Slot Selection 2026
Along with the SSC MTS Exam Date, the start date for slot booking has also been announced. Candidates can choose their exam slot from the official website ssc.gov.in starting from 15th January 2026. The slot booking option opens a few days before the exam and lets candidates select their exam city, date, shift, and centre. Admit cards with these selected details will be issued only to candidates who use the slot booking facility.
SSC MTS 2026 Exam Timings
Based on previous years, the SSC MTS 2026 computer based exam is likely to be held in four shifts. As per the SSC MTS Exam Date pattern, candidates will need to reach the exam centre at least one and a half hours before the exam starts so that entry and checking can be done on time.
