The State Health Society, Bihar (SHS Bihar) has announced a total of 1075 vacancies under different health programs like NTP, NPPCF, HWC, and others. The recruitment is for the posts of Senior Laboratory Technician and Laboratory Technician. To strengthen healthcare and diagnostic services in hospitals and health centers across the state, the online registration for Bihar SHS Lab Technician Vacancy 2025 has started from 1st September 2025 for eligible candidates. Bihar SHS lab Technician Application Fee
The Bihar SHS Lab Technician application fee is ₹125 or ₹500, depending on the category. For General, Backward Class, Extremely Backward Class, and Economically Weaker Section, the fee is ₹500. For Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (permanent residents of Bihar), the fee is ₹125. For Reserved/Unreserved Female candidates (permanent residents of Bihar), the fee is ₹125. For candidates from outside Bihar (any category), the fee is ₹500. For Divyang (Disabled) candidates with 40% or more disability, the fee is ₹125.
Age Criteria & Education Qualification
Candidates who wish to apply for the Bihar SHS lab Technician posts must be at least 18 years old, while the maximum age limit is 37/ 40/ 42 years. Along with this, category-wise age relaxation is also available as per government rules.
When it comes to educational qualifications, the requirements differ for each post. For Laboratory Technician, the candidate must have passed 12th (Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as subjects.
For Senior Laboratory Technician, the qualification is M.Sc in Medical Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, General Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry (with or without DMLT) along with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in TB lab tests. The candidate should also have experience with Mycobacterium tuberculosis tests, such as:
- Genotypic tests: Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests, Line Probe Assay
- Phenotypic tests: Culture and Drug Susceptibility Tests
Alternatively, candidates with a B.Sc in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Science, Botany, or Zoology with DMLT are also eligible, but they must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in TB lab tests and experience with the same Mycobacterium tuberculosis tests mentioned in pdf.
